Combined Heating and PowerORNL’s Cooling, Heating and Power Technologies program researches, tests and analyzes the effects of combined heating and power on various technologies. This work ultimately provides solutions at becoming a more efficient community while cutting wasteful energy.The CHP team includes chemical, civil and mechanical engineers all with a wide array of technological expertise. This team has access to some of the most sophisticated technology in the world allowing them to conduct some of the most complex combined heating and power tests imaginable. These tests often allow for 50-70 percent higher efficiency rates for those who utilize this technology including businesses, universities, and military installations across the US and Canada.
