The use of affordable distributed energy resources (DER) is a core strategy in reengineering the nation's energy generation and delivery systems.The Cooling, Heating and Power (CHP) Technologies Program team at ORNL works within the Engineering Science and Technology Division (ESTD). The purpose is to develop cost-effective technologies that reduce overall energy use, reduce peak power demand, ensure better power reliability and quality, while reducing emissions.
