Renewable energy powerRenewable energy power is usable electricity generated from the earth’s natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat. These sources of energy are naturally replenished and offer a clean alternative to fossil fuels. As our nation’s energy consumption continues to rise, it is imperative that we develop these technologies into viable, cost effective options to traditional energy production.Within ORNL’s Cooling, Heating and Power Technologies Program team, we work with renewable energy power sources to evaluate their viability as alternate energy solutions, and to aid in the development of systems to efficiently convert these resources into usable power.
