DESICCANT HUMIDITY CONTROL VAN

Tour

A layout of the DHC Van is shown below. The interior of the DHC Van consists of two compartments: Zone 1 and Zone 2. An airlock separates the two zones. The airlock consists of a semi-transparent wall allowing visitors to see from one compartment to the other, and opposing egress doors for visitors to easily move between compartments while minimizing air exchange between the two zones. Zone 1 uses conventional air conditioning and Zone 2 uses an advanced desiccant-assisted air conditioning system.

Information in both zones is displayed in “light boxes” and on plasma screens. Each “light box” contains a static display with back lighting and each plasma screen shows a video presentation. The location of these displays in each zone is shown in the above layout. Zone 1 has five “light boxes” (LB1 through LB5) and one plasma screen (PS1). Zone 2 has four “light boxes” (LB6 through LB9) plus two plasma (PS2 and PS3) screens. This zone also has classroom seating for extended presentations and workshops. A typical tour will follow the numbered sequence shown above. Clicking on the displayed numbers will show the information available at that location.

Zone 2 - click on the monitor on the counter to get a closer look at the ViewStation ScreenNote, handicapped visitors exit via the handicap lift by going back through the airlock into Zone 1.

Recognizing the wide range of potential visitors for the tour, the duration of the DHC Van tour can range from 15 minutes to 45 minutes or one-hour to one-day workshops tailored to meet the needs of end users.

The tours can be self-guided or conducted by guides, who have significant experience in desiccant systems to answer any questions visitors might have. A tour can accommodate up to 15 persons. The total number of visitors that can tour the DHC Van in a day depends on the tour duration.
